We’re excited to introduce Ayrshire singer-songwriter, accordion virtuoso, and master entertainer Tim Dalling, who will be performing on Saturday at this year’s festival! Originally gaining attention as the kilted, accordion-playing spark in the much-loved Old Rope String Band and later The New Rope String Band, Tim Dalling blends folk music, theatre, humour, and enchanting storytelling into memorable performances. As a solo artist, he has performed at major UK festivals, toured theatre-style shows, and has supported acts such as The Unthanks on tour. Tim has been ranked by critics alongside the likes of Randy Newman and Ivor Cutler; from this, he went on to create the Ivor Cutler Tribute Show. Kris Drever described Tim’s performance at Lau Land as “breathtaking,” naming it “unique exhilarating brilliance.” His album ‘Blossom’ (recorded with guitarist Ian Carr and bassist Neil Harland) was included in a Top Ten album pick for the national press, and R2 Magazine’s review of ‘Eve’s Bonie Squad’ saw him named “a genius.” Get ready for the one-of-a-kind performance style that only Tim Dalling delivers!
